Bay Leaf Kitchen summer camps teach hands-on cooking basics with a focus on fresh and healthy ingredients. Every week-long session includes an overnight farm trip where campers have the opportunity to harvest vegetables, cook, play in the dirt and camp out under the stars. New in summer 2017, each week will offer uniquely themed curriculum which will allow campers to delve deeply into an interest of their choosing.
First timers, as well as the most experienced campers, come away with a warm, wonderful commitment to the local food community, sustainability and an appreciation for nourishing food. For teens looking to further develop their culinary and leadership capabilities, the counselor in training (CIT) program teaches leadership fundamentals, program and curriculum development techniques, and advanced kitchen skills. Teen Camp is an opportunity for any Teen who loves to cook, in a group of their peers, on recipes and concepts that will challenge even adult chefs. To read more about teen camp, click HERE
CAMP HOURS: 9 am to 4 pm Monday – Wednesday in the Bayview District of San Francisco, Thursday night camp-out at a local farm returning Friday afternoon at 4:00PM
CAMPER AGES: 8 - 12 & 13 - 17
GROUP SIZE: Limited to 24 Campers per session.
COST: At Bay Leaf Kitchen, we are committed to making camp a part of every kid's summer, regardless of their background. For all 2017 summer sessions, the rate is $775 and includes transportation during the farm overnight, snacks, lunch and extra samples to take home for the whole week. Financial aid will be granted for Low to Moderate Income families in amounts ranging from 25% to 100% off the price of tuition, based on household income.
